LAS Newsletter Issue 11 – 2022

The learning for Semester 2, 2022 begins with some timetable changes and students starting to work from our new Arts, Science and Secondary School Building. We would like to thank the parents, students and staff who assisted in the setup over the school holidays, which has seen considerable work completed along with some tidy up around our Grounds. Many hands make light work and while there is always more to do, it is great to see a few boxes on the to do list being completed. We look forward to showing you all the new facilities at our upcoming Open Day.

‘School and Community Working Together’

Since returning from long service leave and Covid, along with having some reflection time, I have had lots of time to appreciate just how important our ‘Motto’ is. Just in the last two weeks as I review a range of events, it struck me just how committed and supportive our students, staff and community are. In naming a few recent events I want to thank on behalf of the school the Lucindale Lions, who are once again running the incredible Mad Minute at Lucindale for the Years 5s across the district to practice and compete in Public Speaking and our local Ambulance Teams, who make an incredible difference in supporting the school and community in times of critical need, along with the support of parental expertise in keeping our students as safe as possible.

LAS Newsletter Issue 8 – 2022

Well, we have certainly had an interesting start to the term! We hope everyone is keeping as safe and healthy as possible. Covid has certainly hit us hard.
Covid update: From Week 5 (Monday May 30th) masks are no longer mandatory in school settings, however they are still highly recommended. This change affects visitors to the site, students from year 7-12 and staff. If a school site has high Covid numbers, they will be directed by the Department for everyone still to wear masks. Students will be notified of this in their home groups and we will send out communication if this is the case. Please also pay attention to any signs around the school or just check with our staff if you come in.
