Congratulations to our Jump Rope for Heart Students and thanks to Flic Jenke for coordinating and all our parents, SSO’s and teachers who have assisted with the practice’s and fundraising. This is the 40th anniversary for the Heart Foundation and a great reminder on the need to be active and focus on our cardiovascular fitness.

LAS Newsletter Issue 14 – 2022

Many hands make light work and throughout life and across the term, we must ensure we take some time to reflect upon what is important to us and what action can we take/support to improve our own lives and the lives of those around us. Working with children, families and educators is an absolute blessing as we seek to build and strengthen the next generation. While we may not all want to be educators it is awesome to reflect upon how when we share our strengths/expertise and help others, how that not only improves outcomes, it also lifts our own wellbeing.

It’s hard to believe we have winter sporting finals underway and are well and truly hitting our stride as we work towards a successful term following on from our Open Day and Opening of our New Science and Art Facilities. Thanks to everyone who has assisted in the lead up to Open day with the two working bees, the organization of the catering and guests etc for the building opening. Hearing the feedback from guests to our school is a fantastic way for us to appreciate just how lucky we are to have great students, amazing staff and community along with ever improving facilities and resources.

LAS Newsletter Issue 12 – 2022

With 12 weeks until Year 12 exams begin, this is the time for all Year 12s to re-assess what they need to do to finish the year to the best of their ability. Please support your child to ensure they are up to speed with their work and are starting to revise/review and prepare for final assessment tasks and exams. With the Year 12s having spent almost 13 years of their lives at school, we want to ensure that the finish is as strong as the start back in Reception when they were learning fundamental reading and writing skills.

Seeing our SACE Outdoor Ed Class head off this week to explore Mountain Bike Touring /Camping across the Adelaide Hills is exciting, as it is a first time for the students and teacher. Hopefully the weather is kind and there are lots of downhill runs for the students.

LAS Newsletter Issue 11 – 2022

The learning for Semester 2, 2022 begins with some timetable changes and students starting to work from our new Arts, Science and Secondary School Building. We would like to thank the parents, students and staff who assisted in the setup over the school holidays, which has seen considerable work completed along with some tidy up around our Grounds. Many hands make light work and while there is always more to do, it is great to see a few boxes on the to do list being completed. We look forward to showing you all the new facilities at our upcoming Open Day.
